Lion Forge, the U.S.-based animation studio behind Oscar-winning short Hair Love, has announced a new partnership with Folktellers Studios to develop and produce entertainment history toon Hero’s Journey The Series. The project will bring the stories of Black artists who rose to fame amid racial segregation in the U.S.
The series will allow viewers to discover the origins of legends like Jimi Hendrix, The Jackson 5, BB King, Ike and Tina Turner, Little Richard, and Aretha Franklin. Music by III WORLDS MUSIC.

LION FORGE ANIMATION STUDIO and FOLKTELLERS STUDIOS have partnered with author Josef Bastian to adapt his book series Folktellers: Excerpts from an Unknown Guidebook into an animated TV series.
LION FORGE won an Oscar for their short film HAIR LOVE. FOLKTELLERS UNIVERSE is the acclaimed young adult fantasy series, targeting kids ages eight and up. III WORLDS MUSIC has been chosen to score the series.
